Winter is one of the most powerful and visually striking seasons to photograph Yellowstone. Snow transforms the landscape into a clean, luminous canvas, simplifying compositions and highlighting wildlife in dramatic contrast.
Led by local guides Tristen and Neil, this immersive workshop combines two days exploring the interior of the park by snow coach and two dedicated days photographing wildlife by vehicle through the legendary Lamar Valley. This balanced approach gives you access to Yellowstone’s geothermal features and snowy interiors, while maximizing prime wildlife opportunities in one of the best predator-prey ecosystems in North America.
You’ll photograph bison covered in frost, wolves moving across open valleys, foxes hunting in fresh powder, along with bighorn sheep, ermine, river otters, and bald eagles. With our hands-on, small-group format, you’ll receive real-time instruction in exposure, composition, and working efficiently in winter conditions.
Whether you’re refining technical skills or building a portfolio of dramatic winter wildlife images, this workshop is designed to position you in the right place, at the right time, with expert guidance every step of the way.
Join us for an unforgettable week capturing the quiet intensity and raw beauty of winter in Yellowstone.
